Every ski shop owner knows the exact feeling: it's 8:40 on a Saturday, the lifts open at 9, and there are still eighteen people standing between your front door and a lift ticket. Lineups aren't just an inconvenience. They're lost rentals from people who give up and go elsewhere, bad reviews from people who made it through in a bad mood, and staff who start the day already behind.

A family returning gear at 4pm shouldn't be standing behind someone booking a first-time rental. If your layout allows it, a dedicated returns station, even a folding table with a tablet on it, takes a meaningful chunk of traffic out of your main line without adding staff.
